SUBJECT:  MIKE TAYLOE RECOGNIZED AS VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

DENVER, CO -- Mike Tayloe, president of Mile High Trim Company recently received the Roger Reinhardt Volunteer of the Year award for his outstanding contributions to the home building industry in 2007. Reinhardt, executive vice president of the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Metro Denver, presented the award to Tayloe in front of nearly 300 HBA members attending an Open House in January, showcasing the newly renovated HBA office building in Centennial.

The original award was presented to Reinhardt himself in 2000, and has since become an annual tribute to the HBA member who embodies the characteristics of an ideal volunteer, one who not only contributes to the success of the organization, but also to its vitality. The award criteria states that the ideal volunteer is a sacrificial giver whose primary concern is the success of the organization, and who will do whatever it takes to get the job done. This person represents the HBA and the industry unselfishly, without the benefit of the limelight.

As a volunteer-based organization, the HBA depends upon a variety of resources to help accomplish its adopted goals, and views their volunteers as their most important resource. “Without the passionate personal contributions of people who care, the HBA would not be what it is today,” said Reinhardt. Mike Tayloe has contributed to the betterment of home building and communities in metro Denver for many years. He has served on the Associate Member Council for four years, and is now serving as the chairman of the 2008 council. He also serves on the executive board of directors for the HBA.

Under Mike’s leadership, Mile High Trim Company is very involved with the Home Builders Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the HBA. His company has participated in 10 projects for the Home Builders Foundation, and two projects for HomeAid Colorado. Mile High Trim Company also took another leading role in 2007 by committing thousands of dollars in doors and materials for the renovation of the new HBA headquarters, as well as acquiring commitments for additional cash and materials contributions from other companies.

“Being selected as the Volunteer of the Year for the HBA is a great honor for our company,” said Tayloe. “We have five core values at the foundation of our business philosophy at Mile High Trim Company. One of those values is Balance, which we define as participating in activities that benefit ourselves and others around us,” he continued. “As a locally-owned and operated company, it’s a privilege for us to give back to our community and industry in Colorado, and it represents who we are as a company.”
